Player Code of Conduct
The essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles:
- Trustworthiness,
- Respect,
- Responsibility,
- Fairness,
- Caring, and
- Good Citizenship.
The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects these six pillars of character.
I therefore agree:
· I will always do my best in practices and games
· I will arrive on time for practices and games and refrain from using my cell phone/texting
· I will respect my teammates
· I will listen to and respect my coach
· I will respect the umpires and fans
· I will respect the opposing players, coaches, and fans
· I will help maintain the fields
· I will clean up the dugout after each game
· I will refrain from eating seeds or other food in the dugouts
· I will abide by the ground rules of each field I play on
· I will learn the rules of the game and respect them
· I will stay in my dugout or on my bench while not playing, and not wander out among the fans
I understand that I may be disciplined for any of the following behaviors while participating in a little league activity (as a player, fan, or observer) and agree to not:
· Throw equipment or display forceful conduct in dissent of an official’s decision
· Verbally attack any official, coach, player, or spectator Use profane, obscene, or vulgar language at any time
· Publicly mock, tease, or humiliate another individual in any manner Participate in any sort of hazing activity
· Gamble upon any play or outcome of any game
· Publicly discuss in a negative way another player’s ability or talents Use any tobacco products
· Speak disrespectfully towards any coach, official, or league representative Use unnecessarily rough tactics in the play of a game against an opposing player Disregard or intentionally violate any Little League rules or local ground rules Expose anyone to harm or unsafe conditions during practice or games
· Engage in any physical altercation with another individual
